Transforming Trauma Into Testimony

Born and raised on the West Side of Chicago, Kevin J. Mosley grew up in a single-parent household alongside his two siblings. A star high school football player, Kevin’s talent on the field led his family to relocate to Columbus, Ohio, during his junior year. There, he earned recognition as an All-Conference and All-District player. However, his desire to fit in often pulled him in the wrong direction, and skipping class became a habit.

Just two weeks before his 18th birthday, Kevin faced legal trouble that resulted in three months of house arrest. Despite these challenges, he managed to graduate high school—albeit with a 1.3 GPA—and enrolled at the University of Toledo. College life didn’t stick, and after dropping out during the winter semester, Kevin returned to Chicago, taking a job as a security officer at the Chicago Board of Trade.

In 2014, Kevin got married and took on a new role as a correctional officer at a maximum-security prison in Nashville, Tennessee. A year later, he decided to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy as a Military Police Officer. Over five years of service, unspeakable trauma and a deployment to the Middle East, Kevin separated from the Navy in 2020, during the height of the pandemic.

Kevin found himself, divorced and starting over. With no clear path ahead, he made a bold decision: to teach himself how to code. Today, Kevin is a software engineer who has built software responsible for generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for some of the world’s largest brands in the world.

Kevin now dedicates his life to inspiring others through his journey and sharing the keys to success outlined in his transformative three-step curriculum, Living Obviously On Purpose (L.O.O.P.). His story is a testament to the power of perseverance, purpose, and personal growth.
